And rumors of my demise have been… highly exaggerated.
Well, not really. I don’t think there have been any rumors of my death. But I’ve always wanted to say (write) that.
Unfortunately, my website was not so lucky. It died when an oversight in my hosting plan shut down everything. I was unable to recover the approximately four months’ worth of blog posts written for my JMC-406: Commentary and Blogging class from the Fall ’21 semester. Now things are sorted out – at least, I hope – and I find myself tasked with starting once again from scratch.
I’m torn. Rarely do I feel that anything I say or write is worth hearing or reading. Still, I was quite proud of several of my posts from last year. It is discouraging to think of mustering more insight for round two of a blog that few will ever see.
Here’s to new beginnings, at the very least, I guess. And if I sound uncertain, it’s because I am. Baring your soul to the world is hard work. Doing so only to see it all go up in smoke can be harder still. But I’ll start over – because I feel that it’s what I have to do. And, of course, because writing is a hell of a lot of fun.
