When the World Closed
Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce
In May of 2021 I began work for the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce as a video intern. Through the organization I created some of my most polished and refined videos. I had opportunities to work on animation as well as photography, videography, and design.
The Antelope
I served as the Director of Video for The Antelope (UNK’s student newspaper) from September 2020 to May 2022. During my tenure I essentially built a video program from the ground up; the only video content being produced for the paper was through a semi-affiliated course, JMC-343: Video at the Antelope. I introduced a video counterpart for the paper’s long-running Lopers Speak segment and produced numerous short news pieces on campus events.
UNK Marketing and Communications
From September 2018 to May 2020 I was a student video worker for the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Marketing and Communications Department. I helped to produce video content for internal and external use; in addition to camerawork and video editing I was trained in animation (primarily After Effects).
Freelance Projects and Undergraduate Coursework
I have produced a limited number of videos as a freelance videographer, and have completed other projects for various undergraduate courses.
Untitled Farm Film 2020
Although technically produced for a college class (JMC-427: Advanced Video), I liked this short film enough to give it its own segment. “Untitled Farm Film 2020” is a brief glimpse into the world from which I come – a small family-owned farm in rural Nebraska.
